NoVA Sharpshooters Youth Pistol Program

The NoVA Sharpshooters youth pistol program introduces junior athletes to the sport of international air pistol.  This shooting discipline uses an air pistol with iron sights firing a 4.5 mm pellet at a target 10 meters from the shooter.  As junior athletes develop, they will advance from beginner (sitting supported) to intermediate (standing supported) and finally advanced (standing unsupported).

Practices are held the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month from 12 Noon to 3 PM.  The program is open to junior athletes 10-18 years of age.  Payment of the Sills Air Range consumables fee and membership in the junior chapter of the AFC-IWLA are required.

Additional practices and matches may be scheduled in addition to the two Sunday practices.  Coaching and equipment are provided.  Advanced athletes may be eligible to participate in the shooting discipline of 25-meter pistol.

Contact coach Mark Budgeon, mgbudgeon@verizon.net, 703-490-5817 (home) for more information.  This is not a walk-in program.  Reservations are required.
